She has also served as a student guidance councillor for 28 years. “I always like to be surrounded by children. Charles teaches Science, Mathematics and Social Studies. He takes pride in the achievements of his pupils. “The children are our future. Their education is the cornerstone of our progress as a nation.” | Susan followed a nursing course over 2 years before joining us as Jupiter. Her experience on the field is leading her to complete her primary school teaching qualifications. “As a teacher, I want to see my pupils become literate, knowledgeable and innovative. This will have a great impact on the land and its people.” |
Cecilia began her career with us here at Jupiter and, having discovered her passion for teaching our students, she is now working towards achieving her teaching qualification. “I love to teach. The children can always bring a smile to my face, and laughing with them keeps me young.” | Grace attended secretarial college in Nairobi and has worked for over 30 years at various Polytechnics, including 9 years at the Mount Kenya Youth Polytechnic. Now she teaches our class of 3 year olds, as they are introduced to a school environment for the first time. “I train my pupils to be leaders just as our motto says, “Strong to Serve Kenyans”. |
Catherine Wambui Njoroje – Maths and languages Teacher Catherine has brilliantly passed her secondary school final exams at Chinga. She also has a significant previous experience teaching classes 4 and 5 at a girl's high school in Timaru town “I am delighted to have joined such a proactive team and motivated children.” | Jacqline Njeri Wanjohi – School Cook Njeri uses fresh, seasonal produce from the farm to feed our fast growing children. A typical meal consists of spinach, potato and carrot stew, supplemented with rice or ugali (maize). For morning tea, the children also take a cup of nourishing porridge, made from millet and sogum. “Feed the child and feed the mind” |
